Dental Crowns

Crowns (or caps) are dental restorations that are placed over a tooth when conservative restorations are insufficient to restore form and function. Natural-looking crowns can be an ideal solution to replace or support missing or damaged teeth. Dr. Lowe’s advanced clinical training allows him to achieve aesthetic results seldom seen elsewhere. Crowns and bridges can be made entirely of tooth-colored material, metal, or a combination to provide optimal aesthetics. Some metal-free crowns and bridgework incorporate stress-bearing materials to enhance their strength and wear-resistance.

Bria: After a gum lift to lengthen the appearance of the teeth, a new all ceramic porcelain crown was placed on the upper left central incisor.

Catherine: After gum surgery to balance the gum levels, porcelain crowns and veneers were made on the eight front teeth to enhance the smile.

Darryl: After years of walking around with a dark discolored filling on the upper right incisor, a porcelain restoration was placed to provide strength and esthetics.

Jenny: After fracturing her porcelain fused to metal crowns in a fall, this patient has her 2 front teeth replaced with metal-free porcelain crowns and her 2 lateral incisors restored with porcelain veneers.

Owain: This patient in his twenties presented with large discolored white fillings on his two front teeth. Since a lot of tooth structure was missing, 2 metal-free porcelain crowns were made to restore his front teeth and match the adjacent natural teeth.

Priscilla: This young lady had her upper right crown and existing veneers on her six upper front teeth replaced with better shaped and more natural looking porcelain crown and veneers. In the example shown, a porcelain veneer only covers the front and sides of a tooth whereas the porcelain crown surrounds a tooth on all sides like a hardhat.
